Vittorio Veneto

Halfway between Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo you can find Vittorio Veneto, where you can see the remains of a Roman city wall. The city had a period of splendor under the rule of the Serenissima, which can be seen by its palaces and squares. Vittorio Veneto, known as the site of the final battle of World War I, received Military gold medals of valor for its efforts during the Resistance period. The hilly landscape that embraces the city, dominated by the Episcopal Castle, is characterized by the renowned Prosecco Superiore vineyards.
